Retail News India: Manipur born designer Mawi Keivom is bringing her brand, Mawi, to her homeland of India .
The UK brand will expand to India this year and will be introduced at Lakme Fashion Week’s Indian Odyssey show March 13. The jewellery pieces will accompany Autumn Winter 2014 clothing designs by Gaurav Gupta, one of India’s most highly acclaimed fashion designers.
The brand mixes traditional and contemporary aesthetics, inspired by Keivom’s childhood of traveling around the world. After launching Mawi twelve years ago, Keivom debuted her brand soon after at London Fashion Week in 2003.
